Privacy Policy

This policy is a working draft prepared for launch and should be reviewed by counsel before publication.

Who we are

Serene Bay Real Estate LLC ("Serene Bay", "we") is a licensed real estate advisory registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal data we collect through serenebay.ae, why, and the rights you hold over it, under the EU and UK GDPR for our European and British visitors, and the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) locally.

What we collect

What you give us. If you use the contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, and your message. Nothing on this site requires an account.

What analytics collects. Google Analytics 4 runs for every visitor. With your consent it sets its cookie and records anonymised usage data (pages read, approximate region, device class). IP addresses are anonymised. Until you accept, or if you decline, it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Google still receives the pages you read and the actions you take on them (a form sent, a question in the FAQ opened, a WhatsApp or other outside link followed), with no cookie or identifier that links them to you or to any other visit.

What is counted without cookies. Our listing platform, Amelia, counts page views and enquiry actions for every visitor using PostHog, hosted in the EU, in its cookieless mode. With each it records an approximate location (country, region and town or city, worked out from your connection; your IP address is never stored) and your browser's language. It stores nothing on your device and never reads what you type into a form. It cannot recognise you from one day to the next; within a day, visits from the same browser and connection are counted as one visitor, using a code worked out on PostHog's servers that is not stored on your device and cannot be traced back to you. If you open a link Amelia sent you personally, the pages you read and the enquiry actions you take in that visit (a form sent, a WhatsApp or phone link followed) are noted against your enquiry. Links in the emails we send can work the same way: they may carry a reference to you, so a visit from one of them can be matched to you. Nothing is stored on your device for it. Third-party platforms. Where we introduce you to an independent specialist, a surveyor, mortgage advisor, letting agent or legal counsel, anything you share with them is governed by their own privacy terms, not ours. We pass on only what you ask us to pass on.

Why we process it

To answer the enquiry you sent. That is the whole of it. We do not build marketing lists, we do not sell data, and we do not contact you beyond replying to what you asked. This is both our legal basis (legitimate interest in answering you; consent for analytics) and our business model.

Retention

Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to serve the enquiry and meet UAE regulatory record-keeping requirements, then deleted. Analytics data follows Google Analytics' standard 14-month retention.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to processing; or withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@serene.com. EU and UK residents may also complain to their supervisory authority.

Transfers

Data you submit is processed in the UAE and, for analytics, by Google under its standard contractual clauses. Cookieless measurement is processed by PostHog in the EU.

We will note the date of any revision at the top of this page.
